Camas is the closest you’ll get to a small town feel in Clark County. Think, Gilmore Girls, Stars Hollow but with Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights leading some of the top athletics programs in the state of Washington.
It has a quaint little ‘downtown’ with all kinds of seasonal events, but for bigger errands and greater options for groceries you’ll still need to venture into Vancouver, about 10 minutes away. Regular artsy street fairs draw big crowds, as does Lacamas Lake and Heritage Park. Expect vibrant and health-minded neighbors enjoying the city’s many lakes, forests and hiking trails, and varying home styles, from smaller older bungalows along tree-lined streets, to stunning waterfront mansions, and private forest getaways. Wildlife is abundant, and families of deer are frequently seen in the neighborhoods. Washougal is just a short drive away for a more rural setting with small-town feels, and a slightly lower price per square foot ($233/sf as of 8/2021.)
